ACCIDENT CLAIMED TWO TOURISTS

RANGPO, May 15: A fatal accident at Likhu Bhir area, 26 kms from Rangpo today claimed two lives, presumably tourists plying from Siliguri to Gangtok.

The accident took shape when the vehicle carrying the tourists, a Mahindra Maxx SK-04/ 7056, went out of control and fell off 200 fts down from the road at around 11.30 am today. The driver of the vehicle and a passenger lady was reported spot dead.

Two passengers with critical injury and six passengers with minor wounds were rushed to Kalimpong Sadar Hospital. The dead bodies of the deceased were also taken to Kalimpong Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The West Bengal Police has started investigations.
